Maria Rankka – new Chairman of the Board

Maria Rankka has been appointed new Chairman of the Board of Ethos International.

Maria Rankka has extensive experience and accomplishment from leading positions in the private sector. Maria is currently the Executive Vice President (EVP) Business Development & Communications at Takura, a Swedish company which invests in and develops advanced cell therapy companies. In addition, she is an angel investor in health tech companies and serves at both for-profit and nonprofit board of directors.

Prior to her current role, Maria was a partner in the global advisory firm Brunswick and between 2010 to 2018 Maria was CEO of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC). Under Maria’s leadership, the chamber undertook bold measures to renew and reenergize the organization. Furthermore, Maria has also been CEO of Sweden’s leading free market think tank, Timbro and partner in the fast-paced communications agency, Prime PR.

Additional fact about Maria: Maria is the author of several highly profiled books. The Celtic Tiger (1999) chronicled the free market reforms of Ireland and how that country moved from the economic backwater in Europe to become a fast-growing hub for foreign multinationals. Her latest book, Mission Change (2016), written together with her leadership coach Marita Bildt, is about change management.
